This is a semi-odd question as it seems it does not matter what it looks like? Some printers have a 鈥榙raft鈥?mode setting that uses the least amount of ink. If you do not force the printer to 鈥榞rey scale鈥?printing, it may use a mix of colors to look like black. Black text on white paper is the best to read. Perhaps you need to ask the question; 'What is the most economical way to refill ink cartridges? Based on your printer, there are good solutions that have refillable and 鈥榬esetting鈥?chip type cartridges. I have used these for years at pennies on the dollar for inkjet costs.
