Dell 720 Inkjet Printer won't recognize black ink cartridge?

Yeah, so I recently got both my ink cartridges refilled at Walgreens and I put them back in to the printer. The color cartridge works fine but it keeps saying that the black cartridge isn't in the printer and when I try to print something that is just black, it comes out blank. Help, please.Dell 720 Inkjet Printer won't recognize black ink cartridge?
There's really only one way I can think of to tell if it's the cartridge and unfortunately that is to buy a new cartridge and try it. If it works, take the refilled one back to Walgreens for a refund on the refill.

Another thought is to see if there is ink on the electrical contacts (not the holes where the ink comes out) on the cartridge on maybe in the printer where the cartridge sits. Just wipe it off with a dry lint-free cloth.

Also if the ink ran out in the black cartridge, some printers will not let you install the same cartridge back in the printer. The printer logs the serial number of the cartridge and is looking for a new number. This is a scheme on the part of the manufacturer to get you to buy a new cartridge instead of refilling.Dell 720 Inkjet Printer won't recognize black ink cartridge?
That is really the best answer for your question. Usually, ink is scattered on the electrical connection causing some malfunctions. The best solutions wipe it off. Simple and neat. I never had any problem after shopping for toners and cartridges.Check http://www.inkjetprinterinkcartridge.co.uk/ Report Abuse

Try these, in this order:

1. Run nozzle cleaning

2. I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver.

3. Take a paper towel dampened with warm water and wipe it over the the area where the ink is dispensed on the bottom of the cartridge until ink seems to be flowing freely. Then pop it back into the printer and use it as normal.
