I have the same printer. They pop-up and out. You need to gently pull up until you hear a small click. The way to get them out is to open up to the contents inside and wait for the cartridges to slide over.

The same way as you put the starter cartages in. You can go to the Canon web site for instructions on how to replace your ink.
