Ink life depends on several factors:


1) Quality of picture


2) Quality of ink (brand name and store brand do differ; I can usually get more prints out of a off brand, but quality sometimes suffers)


3) Amount of ink in cartridge (some printers can use two different cartridges and only difference in the cartridges is the amount of ink)


4) Amount of specific color used in pictures (if using a tricolor ink cartridge)





I have a HP Photosmart 330 series printer uses the HP 95 tricolor cartridge. I can usually get about 100 4x6 photos out of it, but most of the time, I run out of one color before the other two (which means I have to throw away a cartridge with usable ink).INK LIfe of INkJet printer?
